Organization Background

Green Globe Growing Community-Based Organization (CBO) was established in 2019 by a marginalized indigenous community in the Narok West sub-county. The organization is committed to creating positive change through community-based work, focusing on addressing the needs of marginalized groups, including women, youth, and persons with disabilities. Green Globe Growing CBO recognizes the interconnectedness of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 2, 3, 6, and 13 and operates with a unique approach that actively involves persons with disabilities in all its activities.

Objectives

  1. Promote food security and sustainable agriculture by enhancing development and innovation, implementing school feeding programs, and providing comprehensive training in agribusiness and smart agriculture.
  2. Enhance community health by implementing maternal and child health programs, facilitating access to essential medicines services and assistive devices for persons with disabilities, and conducting disease prevention campaigns and workshops.
  3. Improve community water and sanitation conditions by implementing infrastructure projects, conducting hygiene campaigns, and promoting safe water practices through borehole drilling, ceramic water filter promotion, and community education on storage and waste disposal.
  4. Enhance community sustainability by promoting renewable energy adoption, facilitating afforestation and reforestation projects, and implementing climate change adaptation programs, including early warning systems and educational workshops.
  5. Raise awareness about gender issues: We strive to increase awareness and understanding of gender-related challenges and inequalities, promoting gender equality and empowering individuals irrespective of their gender identity to actively participate in decision-making processes.

Collaborate with stakeholders: We recognize the importance of collaboration with various stakeholders including government agencies, NGOs, community groups, and individuals to achieve our objectives.
